I need a very simple recipe for sauce to cook small frozen meatballs on the stove. Please :)

I'm watching some kids and have nothing for lunch. I have some frozen meatballs. What can I cook them in? I don't have any bbq sauce. Thanks for your ideas.

btw i am giving them mac and cheese too, but don't think it will be enough. Just thought I should add that so you wouldn't think I was just giving them meatballs.I need a very simple recipe for sauce to cook small frozen meatballs on the stove. Please :)
Sweet %26amp; Sour sauce: equal parts apple jelly %26amp; mustard.

Too spicy, use a can of mushroom or tomato soup, diluted with milk.

Don't have that?

Melt 2 tbsp of butter in saucepan, add 2 tbsp of flour.

Cook over medium heat until golden, add 1 cup milk, 1 cup water.

Whisk to prevent lumps, bring to a simmer, add meat balls %26amp; reduce.

this is the best recipe! it's easy and delicous! you can use any type of spaghetti sauce or tomato sauce instead of the pizza sauce if you dont have it.

INGREDIENTS:

3 (14 ounce) cans pizza sauce

1 (10 ounce) jar apple jelly

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 (16 ounce) package frozen

meatballs

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a large saucepan, mix pizza sauce, apple jelly, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Bring to a low boil over medium heat.

2. Place frozen meatballs into the sauce mixture. Cover and simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes, or until meatballs are done, stirring occasionally.
Since you are talking about kids I think that you should keep it simple and let them dip in either cheese, (easy since you are doing mac-n-cheese) or a simple pasta sauce. You could even try some salad dressings like blue cheese, ranch, thousand island, honey mustard..kids like all sorts of dips.

If you were doing this for adults I would suggest the following sauce:

1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce

1 bottle (12 ounces) chili sauce

1 jar (10 ounces) grape jelly

Heat until all is melted and blended together. Place cooked meatballs in sauce Simmer, then keep hot in small crock pot.
I was bored one night and had meat, cheese, and ketchup. brown meat add ketchup and then cheese. season to taste. Or instead of making mac and cheese use the noodles and mix with the meatballs stir in some katchup, tomato sauce cream of mushroom soup. save cheese for something else.
If you have a can of plain tomatoe sauce, use that and add spices like oregano, pepper and maybe garlic to you preferred taste. Only add a little bit at a time and see how it smells and tastes. Be especially careful with the garlic.
I love to make meatball sandwiches or subs myself. Just heat them up with some plain marinara or spaghetti sauce. Serve in a hoagie roll or cut them in half to make sandwiches. Put a slice of cheese on top. Enjoy!
Ketchup..it would just taste more like meatloaf than a spaghetti meatball lol. But seriousley, or like pineapple juice or something
Heat them in a small can of tomato sauce or a combo. of catsup and chili sauce or even salsa!
Mac %26amp; cheese IS enough for a main dish, especially lunch. Why not give them some carrot %26amp; celery sticks too, so that they have some vegetables.... or some fruit
You could try a white gravy, milk, flour, pepper and salt.
A can of cream of mushroom gravy and you could add some sour cream. Or just a plain can of Franco American Beef Gravy.
a simple ketchup mayo combo....yum!
