Looking for a simple Moussaka recipe,with beef mince,not lamb.Any suggestions?

Ingredients:


1 pound lean ground beef


1 onion, chopped


1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce


1/2 teaspoon salt


1/8 teaspoon nutmeg


1/4 teaspoon black pepper


4 medium potatoes, peeled and cooked


2 eggs


1 1/3 cup milk


1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese





Directions:





Brown beef and onion in large saucepan. Add tomato sauce and seasonings. Bring to boil and simmer, covered , for about 20 minutes. Slice cooked potatoes about 1/4 inch thick; arrange half of them in greased casserole. Cover with meat/tomato sauce mixture and top with rest of potatoes. Beat eggs and milk together and pour over potatoes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in 350F oven for about 45 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.





Note: you can use either lamb or beef, the recipe remains the same.

1 陆 pounds Ground beef

1 teaspoon Salt

1 can Tomato sauce(8oz)


录 cup Dry red wine


1 Medium eggplant


1 Eggs


戮 cup Milk


陆 teaspoon Salt


鈪?cup Grated Parmesan cheese





Heat oven to 375'. Cook and stir meat and onion in large skillet until meat is brown. Drain off fat. Stir in parsley, 1 teaspoon salt, the pepper, nutmeg, tomato sauce and wine; heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered 5 minutes. Pare eggplant and cut into 1/2-inch slices. Arrange half the eggplant slices in ungreased baking dish, 11 3/4x7 1/2x1 3/4 inches; top with remaining eggplant slices and meat mixture. Cover with aluminum foil and bake until eggplant is tender, about 40 minutes. Beat eggs, milk and 1/2 teaspoon salt; pour over hot casserole and sprinkle with cheese. Bake uncovered until custard is set, 10 to 15 minutes. Cool 10 minutes, then cut into squares.Looking for a simple Moussaka recipe,with beef mince,not lamb.Any suggestions?
Ingredients


2 medium eggplants


5 tablespoons cooking oil


2 medium onions, peeled and sliced


500 g beef mince


2 tablespoons tomato paste


1 teaspoon mixed herbs


鈪?cup beef stock


250 g potatoes, peeled and cooked


2 tomatoes


Salt and pepper





Sauce


30 g margarine


30 g plain flour


30 g grated cheese


1陆 cups milk


2 eggs





Method


Slice the eggplant and spread on a plate.


Sprinkle the eggplant with salt and leave for 15 minutes.


Rinse and dry.


Fry the eggplant in a little oil until brown on both sides. Put aside.


Heat the remaining oil and cook the onion until soft. Add the mince and cook until browned.


Stir in the tomato paste, stock, herbs and seasonings.


Bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.


Slice the cooked potatoes and tomatoes.


Line the bottom of an oven proof dish with half the eggplant.


Pour over half the meat mixture and top with sliced tomatoes.


Add the rest of the eggplant, meat and layer with the potatoes.


Sauce: Melt the margarine, stir in the flour and gradually blend in the milk.


Bring the sauce to the boil, stirring constantly.


Beat in the egg yolks and cheese.


Whisk the egg whites and fold into the sauce.


Pour the sauce over the moussaka and bake in a moderate oven for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
